THE PARKING LOT SERIES
Friday, September 10, 2010 at 8:30 pm
Buster's Billiards & Backroom, 899 Manchester Street, Lexington KY
Ages 18+, Free
Lexington Film League will screen Heavy Metal Parking Lot, and the rest of the parking lot series, *in* Lexington's own rockin' parkin' lot at Buster's Billiards and Backroom. The screening is part of the citywide music festival, Boomslang: A Celebration of Sound and Art.
Heavy Metal Parking Lot, an underground classic, documents tailgating metal fans in the parking lot outside a Judas Priest concert in Landover, Maryland in 1986. The others in the series, all by D.C. filmmakers John Heyn and Jeff Krulik, are Neil Diamond Parking Lot, Monster Truck Parking Lot, and Harry Potter Parking Lot.
Total running time is less than an hour - we may loop the series if there is interest. Those coming are encouraged to bring chairs or blankets if they need or want them.
The films are not rated, but language would be considered 'R' in Heavy Metal Parking Lot.
Lexington Film League thanks Bullhorn, Buster's and Boomslang, for making this screening possible. We also thank Louis Zoellar Bickett for the use of his photograph in our publicity.

TRASH HUMPERS
Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at 8:00 pm
The Green Lantern, 497 West Third Street, Lexington KY
Ages 21+, Free
Come see what promises to be one of Lexington's strangest cinematic experiences to date! You've seen "Kids" and "Gummo", but you have no idea the lengths that Harmony Korine is willing to go until you see...TRASH HUMPERS!
Trash Humpers is Korine's latest entry in his much discussed and debated artsploitation oeuvre. It follows the exploits of a perverse group of geriatrics who maraud a Southern urban landscape seeking violence and mayhem. Korine reportedly shot the film on a 1980s camcorder and edited it with two vcr's to achieve the look of a found object--something created by the deviants it depicts and never meant to be seen. The resulting film is loved by some and hated by others--but it invokes impassioned responses either way. Come be a part of the discussion!
Our MC for the evening is Trash Humpers' star Chris Crofton. He will introduce the screening, do stand-up, and answer all of your most pressing Trash Humpers questions. This is not to be missed!
The screening is free, but donations are appreciated. 100% of donations will go to keeping Chris Crofton on the road and spreading this beautiful madness.
